Delete Your Account
You can delete your Vernota account at any time directly from the app. This page explains how to do it and what happens to your data.
How to delete your account
- Open the Vernota app on your Android device.
- Go to Settings (tap the gear icon in the top right corner of the home screen).
- Scroll down to the Account section.
- Tap "Delete account".
- Confirm the action in the dialog that appears.
What gets deleted
- Your account and login credentials.
- All statements you have created.
- All folders, reminders, and notification preferences.
- All proof links you have generated.
- Uploaded images attached to statements.
What is retained
Cryptographic fingerprints (SHA-256 hashes) of statements that were anchored to the public GitHub archive before deletion remain in that archive. This is a permanent, tamper-evident public record. The archive contains only the hash — no statement text, no personal data, and no information linking the hash to your account.
Deleting individual statements
You can also delete individual statements without deleting your account. Tap any statement to open it, then tap the delete icon.
For full details on data handling, see our Privacy Policy.
If you are unable to access the app and need to request account deletion, contact us at privacy@vernota.app.
